This past week the Georgia Junior National Livestock Show was held in Perry, Georgia and Seminole County 4-H and FFA had over thirty student members attend to show their cattle and swine projects. Students show in a showmanship show which demonstrates their ability to show their animal correctly and in a market class show which is based on the conformation of the animal and its qualities as a market product. We had over half of our students place in their respective market classes and several individuals place in their showmanship class.
In swine showmanship, Elizabeth Ausley placed 9th overall in 11th grade showmanship, Ethan Ausley placed third overall in 9th grade showmanship, and Meg Mathis placed 8th overall in 7th grade showmanship.
In cattle, Savanna Whitaker placed 10th overall in the New Exhibitor Showmanship class. '
Congratulations to all of our 4-H and FFA members!
