Changes in Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures:

Friday, November 9, 2018

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

I hope all of you are continuing to recover from Hurricane Michael. We are glad to be back in a

normal routine of school and work.

We are changing the drop off and pick up areas while the school is being repaired. We believe

we have found a way to eliminate some traffic issues that we have encountered this week. Beginning

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2018, students in kindergarten through second grade will be dropped off at

the front office entrance each morning. The earliest time to drop off students is going to remain 7:30.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students will be dropped off at the ramp on the south side of the

gymnasium. Parents will enter from the southernmost driveway on campus. Parents should continue to

the ramp on the southside of the gym to drop off students. From that point, traffic will be directed to

exit the campus using the grassy field south of the football field. ALL traffic exiting the campus from that

point MUST turn right and travel south. Pick up procedures for third, fourth, and fifth grade students

will be the same as morning drop off.

Kindergarten, first grade, second grade students will be dropped off at the front office as they

previously were prior to Hurricane Michael. Kindergarten students and siblings will continue to be

picked up at the regular pick up area on the north end of the campus. First and second grade students

and siblings will resume to their normal pickup location at the front office area. Vehicles picking up at

the north end (K students and siblings) will need to be in the middle lane to be directed to pick up your

students. Vehicles picking up first and second grade students and siblings will need to be in the lane

closest to the building and drive under the portico to pick up your students.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this difficult time in our county and our school

system. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 229-524-5235.

Sincerely,

Renea M. Pierce

GaDOE Parent Survey

Georgia Department of Education Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions and can be completed using personal computers, smartphones or iPads. (A Spanish version of the parent survey will be available soon.)  For parents that do not have access to the Internet, parents can sign on at the public library or you can contact the school’s office to set up a time to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school.  All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey, because the data will be used to calculate the School Climate Star Rating.  Participation is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged.  Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.  Data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.  The URL address for the Georgia Parent Survey is posted below.
